CREATION OF MEMBERSHIP RECOGNITION PROGRAM

This bulletin creates Section 8 of the Rules and Regulations of the Association of Certified Fraud Specialists, Inc. and sets for policy with respect to the creation of a "Membership Recognition Program."

This policy was recommended by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and has been approved by the National Board of Directors. Historically, Association members have engaged in substantial efforts to both represent the Association and to recruit qualified candidates for membership.

Although the national leadership implemented various means of recognizing member contributions, it was determined these efforts remained inadequate. Consequently, this program was created to recognize and reward Association members while enhancing their educational opportunities.

The following elements will govern the implementation of this program, however, the NEC has been delegated the authority to amend program rules where necessary and prudent.

1. Participation is limited to Association Members in good standing.

2. This program will use January 1st to December 31st of each calendar year as the basis of a "qualifying period."

3. If an Association Member is responsible for the application (recruitment) of a total of ten (10) qualified applicants in a qualifying period, the member will be award 500 "Association Dollars."

Members achieving this level of service are acknowledged as members of the "Order of the Inner Circle" and are honored on our website in the Honors and Award Section. The reference made in the name of this "Order" ties directly to the Heraldry of our Associations' national emblem.

4. If an Association Member is responsible for the application (recruitment) of a total of twenty (20) qualified applicants in a qualifying period, the member will be granted an additional award comprised of
a. Free registration to the next scheduled ACFS National Fraud Conference,
b. Up to five (5) nights lodging at the conference host hotel site, and
c. Reimbursement for up to $500 in travel costs associated with attending the ACFS National Fraud Conference.

Members achieving this level of service are acknowledged as members of the "Order of the Shield" and are so honored on our website in the Honors and Award Section. The reference made in the name of this "Order" ties directly to the Heraldry of our Associations' national emblem.

5. "Association Dollars" may used to:

a. Acquire Association collectible and memorabilia such as briefcases, pens, lapel pins, cups, pad folios, shirts, coats, etc.
b. Pay tuition related to attending conferences, seminars, and training events as hosted by the national office of the Association or an ACFS chapter.
c. Relieve the obligation to pay annual dues to the Association.

6. To obtain credit, the Association Member must be identified by the applicant, on the application form, as being the applicants sponsor or primary reason for joining the Association. A space on the application form issued in 2003 has a special line to accommodate such identification and can be found on the back of the application just above the signature line. If an applicant forgets or fails to provide credit to a sponsoring or recruiting member, the applicant can provide subsequent confirmation via U.S. Mail or Email as to the existence of a recruiter or sponsor.

7. Members who receive awards will be honored by having their profiles placed in a special "Member Recognition" section of the Associations' website.

8. Association staff, National Officers, Regional Governors, members of the Board of Regents, and members of the Professional Standards and Admissions Committee may not participate in this program during their respective terms of employment or office.

9. "Association Dollars" have no monetary value and may not be bartered, traded, transferred, sold, given away or used in any many other than as expressly stated in this policy memo.
